Mustard Seed Fund for New Programming

Jesus compared faith to a mustard seed: a very small thing from which beautiful and productive things can sprout. In a church, sometimes a small but faithful investment of resources can unleash new spiritual energy and meet unforeseen needs. The needed resources, however, are often not available within the annual church budget.

The Mustard Seed Fund will enable church leaders to institute new programs or test new initiatives such as a new, second worship service that we have already begun to pilot. Any new program will require careful planning so that it becomes self-sustaining in the long term–but often a humble investment can yield a big harvest.

The establishment of this fund has been placed in our campaign’s third priority tier. As with other special funds, additional contributions will be accepted to maintain and grow the Mustard Seed Fund.

The Trustees and the Session will oversee final planning and priority setting among this and the many other needs being addressed by the capital campaign. If we are successful in meeting our three-year goal, these projects will “preserve the past, enrich the present and provide for the future” of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville.

If you have any questions about the campaign, please contact Jeanne Aicher or Jeff Vamos in the church office or one of the co-chairs for the campaign: Bill Haines or Tom Wilfrid. (Wendy Simpson is temporarily out of town.)
