Although Pastor Luc remains in Florida, he is in regular communication with his team in Haiti.
The Harmony Schools are open. There are 321 students in Port-au-Prince, 187 in Leogane and 100 in LaSalle. Although he knows the school in Thoman is open, the communication is weak, and he doesn’t know how many children are enrolled. The church in Port-au-Prince continues to have services every Sunday. Pastor Luc preached via WhatsApp the first Sunday in November. This past week, the ladies’ choir sang. About 450 people attend worship each week. A smaller number than when the streets were safer, but with the sound of gunshots heard throughout many neighborhoods, it just isn’t safe for people outside the immediate area to travel to the church. The recent hurricane, which damaged so much of Jamaica, also caused some damage and loss of life in Haiti. Thankfully, it didn’t do any damage to any of the Harmony churches/schools.
Through the generosity of so many we will be sending funds electronically directly to Haiti at the end of November, December, and January. Pastor Luc has trusted people in Haiti who will receive the funds and use the money to pay the school teachers, purchase food for distribution, and to purchase medicine for the medical clinic (which continues to be held four days a week).
