A Five-Week Sermon Series for Lent
“Those who lose their life for my sake will find it.”
– Matthew 9:39
Jesus desired that his followers not just learn facts about theology, or rules for living. Jesus was after the total transformation of the person, a complete change of mind, which he called metanoia. As we shall explore in this sermon series, Jesus taught his disciples that the not-yet Kingdom of God is a reality to be lived right now.
So, how do we do that? Amidst the laundry, the taxes, the errands, how do we begin to cultivate such changed mind and heart?
Through this series, we will look at Jesus as a wisdom teacher, equipping people for life in the kingdom now. We will also see how this teaching arises from the Jewish wisdom tradition and forms a bridge to other wisdom traditions of the east, such as Zen Buddhism and Taoism, which we will also explore together.
This page will be updated throughout the series with new resources and information to complement the series. Stay tuned!
