“Finding Happiness” is the theme for the 2012 Men’s Retreat at PCOL. This page contains detailed information about the retreat, and an on-line registration form.
About the retreat leader: Fr. Peter K. Stimpson, an Episcopal Priest and therapist, is the Director of Trinity Counseling Service in Princeton, and is the author of the book, MAP TO HAPPINESS: Straightforward Answers to Everyday Issues.
Preparation: Nothing to prepare – it’d be helpful if you read Peter’s retreat introduction here.
About the Retreat: What is happiness? If we are on a path toward wholeness and happiness, what exactly are we seeking? And how do we get there? This retreat will offer some practical, concrete and simple (not simplistic) ways to approach some of the complex problems we all encounter as men, such as stress, work, and illness, in our journey toward the wholeness that is God’s intention for us.
About the Venue: St. Joseph’s by the Sea is a relaxing retreat center on the Jersey Shore. There is always ample free time during the retreat for rest, relaxation and hanging out.
Dates and Times: The retreat begins on Friday, February 24 with dinner en-route to the retreat at a restaurant (to be determined – the group will be contacted in advance about logistics). Friday evening concludes with a brief introduction to the weekend, and a movie. The retreat ends with worship on Sunday, February 26, and lunch, which can also be taken “to go”.
Carpool, and departure: We will depart at 5:15 (sharp!) from the church parking lot, and go to dinner at a restaurant en route. (We will update this page, and email participants, the specifics. Outback again this year?)
