In order to raise money budgeted to support our mission programs and the ministries of the church, a committee of optimists has determined that we can both address our need to raise dollars to support missions and the ministries of the church AND enhance fellowship opportunities for our members and the broader community.
Frolics and Fellowship is a series of events that will stretch throughout the year and even into 2017. The Frolics season will begin with a kickoff event, the Eggstravaganza, after church on April 24, 2016, at which time there will be egg casseroles and other good food to enjoy. All members and friends of members are invited to participate. The Frolic offerings are designed to provide something for everyone. They may be targeted to the whole family, or kids/youth-only outings, or formal adults-only events. Members of our community can come together around shared interests.
At our kickoff event, while enjoying some delicious food, members can look over the Frolic offerings. We hope everyone will find an event suited to their interests or those of their children and friends. Tickets for Frolics will be on sale at the kickoff and each Sunday after worship. Frolic and Fellowship offerings will also be posted on the church website for purchase. Additionally we will be advertising our Vacation Rental by Members (VRBM) on that day. These are members’ homes that are being offered for vacation rental, with the church receiving the proceeds.
We are looking for members who would be willing to sponsor a Frolic and Fellowship event or offer a vacation home for rental. Let your imagination go wild. The following are a couple of samples to help your brainstorming:
Ice Cream Social and Bingo – Come to a fun evening of bingo, followed by building your own ice cream sundaes in the Fellowship Center of the church on (DATE and TIME). This will be fun for one or two people, or a whole family. Ages 8-Adult welcome. Sponsored by (YOUR NAME).
Towpath Bike Ride and Picnic – Come join the ______ family for a bike ride from Washington Crossing to Lambertville and back along the towpath by the beautiful Delaware River. Then enjoy a delicious picnic at the home of ________________ in Lawrenceville – and if it’s warm enough, take a dip in their pool!
We are seeking the participation of people who would be willing to design and host a Frolic. The other side of this insert is a Frolic sign-up form that leads you through the process of planning a Frolic.
General guidelines include the following: We encourage each Frolic to raise at least $200; Frolic costs are covered by the sponsor, except if there is a large expense, such as tickets, that needs to be reimbursed to the sponsor because of the cost; remember that several people can join forces to sponsor a Frolic; sponsors are responsible to find or supply venues for their events. If you would like to use space at the church, please contact Bev Mills in the church office. Please note: no alcoholic beverages or gambling permitted in the church. The church reserves the right to approve the Frolics.
Please submit all Frolic offerings by April 10 to be included in the April 24 event. [gravityform id=”42″ title=”true” description=”true”]
