Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. –Martin Luther King, Jr.
The very concept of God can be overwhelming. An all-knowing, all-seeing and most incomprehensibly, always-loving God is a mystery with which our mortal minds wrestle. But the beautiful truth is just that – God knows everything about us and loves us, both in spite of it and because of it. God loves us so much that God’s own son Jesus was sent to walk among us, show us divine love through his actions and redeem our sins. God walks among us still, if our hearts will accept that gift. Our eternal God is always there for us, both to help us and to guide us. We are called to do God’s will throughout the world – changing ourselves, changing our neighborhoods and changing the world in ways that reflect divine love. By trusting in God and God’s active presence in the world, we ask God to direct our lives in ways that are pleasing to God. In this way, we follow Jesus who prayed, “not my will, but Thy will be done.”
