Haiti Task Force Update
Many thanks to everyone who has donated to our Haiti Mission Funds. As of February 19, over $10,000 was given during Haiti Mission Month! Pastor Luc is most grateful, and he reported on how our support is making a difference.

After worship on Sunday, February 16, Pastor Luc and Ronide Deratus gave an update on Harmony Ministries and their mission in Haiti to a large gathering of church members in the Lounge.
Gifts to the Support a Student Fund have made a difference in hundreds of children’s lives each year. That support also helped Pastor Luc get out of Haiti in January. One of his former students at the Harmony School in Port-au-Prince is now a government minister in charge of Haitians not living in Haiti. Because she was grateful to Pastor Luc and his school for providing her with a good educational foundation, she arranged for him to join her and other government officials on a helicopter flight to Cap Haitien, a relatively safe area where he could then fly on a commercial airline to Miami.
Pastor Luc’s Port-au-Prince church has a ministry at the women’s prison in Port-au-Prince, where the living conditions are deplorable. The church has provided the women there with simple supplies such as bed linens. There is also no clean water available to the prisoners there, so with the help of our donations to the Haiti General Fund, Pastor Luc purchased gallons of clean water for them.
The gangs in Port-au-Prince control about 80% of the city. They have closed most of the hospitals, so there is very little medical care available. Because of support from the Haiti General Fund, Pastor Luc is able to employ a doctor, a nurse, and a lab technician four days a week, and he is able to purchase medicine for members of his church and the community surrounding the church.
The Haiti Missionary Fund helps to support Pastor Luc and his family, which allows him to continue his ministry in Haiti.
It is never too late to make a gift to any of our Haiti funds! You can send a check to the church office or put it in an offering plate, or you can make a gift online by going to the DONATE page on the church website.
There are three ways to support Pastor Luc and Harmony Ministries:
- Haiti General Fund: This fund allows Pastor Luc to purchase food and medicine; bags to fill with rice; medicines, and to help subsidize the doctor at the Harmony Medical Clinic in Port-au-Prince. This support is enormously important to help conquer hunger and to provide medical care to those who have no other medical option.
- Haiti Sponsor A Student Fund: This fund supports Pastor Luc’s schools, helping students in the Port-au-Prince, Thoman, Leogone and LaSalle schools. Because of this support, Pastor Luc has been able to hire more teachers, build more classrooms, purchase school supplies, and provide food for the students and teachers. You can Sponsor a Student for $50 for one year.
- Haiti Missionary Fund: This fund helps support Pastor Luc and his family with living expenses.

Darrell Armstrong, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Trenton, joined members of the PCOL Haiti Task Force at a reception for Pastor Luc and Ronide Deratus on February 15, 2025.
