Nurturing Your Child’s Faith at Home

Parents (and grandparents) are the first-line faith models for children. Learn ways to nurture children’s faith in your everyday lives. A slight change of view can make a big difference in how our children grow in faith and wisdom.

Learning Differences

Multiple intelligences, executive functioning, attention deficit, sensory integration. What do those terms mean anyway? How can I understand what is going on with my child and then support him/her both socially and academically? How do I best advocate for my child? What is dyslexia and what isn’t dyslexia? What is multisensory reading instruction? Does every child need it? What are the typical behaviors of emerging readers? What are the components of a highly successful school reading program?

Many Children Are Stressed, Over-Stimulated and Over-Committed: What Can We Do?

This class will focus on helping our children budget their time, organize their academic and extra-curricular commitments, set realistic priorities, and become responsible and achieving members of their school and home communities. Parents of children as young as pre-school and as old as high school will learn to recognize the stressors which can lead to anxiety in children, with tips on how to manage or avoid over-stimulation and over-commitment at any age.

Dr. Dana Liebmann is a Certified School Psychologist who has worked in Princeton for the past thirty years. She was the psychologist on the Child Study Team at Princeton High School for many years, was in private practice, and, for the past twelve years, has been the Director of Personal Counseling at The Hun School of Princeton. She is a frequent speaker and writer on adolescent and parenting issues.
