Remembering the People of Haiti | January 10, 2021

2021 marks 30 years that PCOL has had a tangible relationship with the people of Haiti through the work and partnership of Pastor Luc and Harmony Ministries. The last few decades have seen countless trips, support, and experiences––guided by the Holy Spirit––in which we’ve come to know God, one another, and our better selves more fully through our shared ministry together. We, at PCOL, continue to be inspired by the faith and resiliency of the people of Haiti, especially in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and Leogane, killing over 200,000 people.

As we approach the anniversary of the earthquake, we remember the people of Haiti as they continue––11 years later––to recover and rebuild in the wake of such a catastrophic event. Even for those mission team members who experienced the earthquake firsthand, it is difficult to put that experience into words. And yet somehow, in even the most dire situations, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness.

We hope that you will join us this Sunday in worship as we lift up our own prayers for Haiti––for its people, for Pastor Luc, and for Harmony Ministries.
