Visioning-PosterDiscerning God’s will for PCOL’s future

We, as a congregation, are engaged in a process of planning for where our congregation will be in the next 5..10…15 years. We are: reaching up to seek God’s will; reaching in to listen to each other; and ultimately, reaching out beyond these walls, as we seek God’s vision for PCOL’s future.

We will be updating this page with new information as our visioning process unfolds. Our hope is to involve and engage the whole congregation as we dream together about the future.

What is this about? If you’re interested in how this process got started, and where we are now, read Pastor Vamos’s March Pastor’s Letter for some background and context.

Events this spring:

  • March 1: Worship and Town Hall Meeting with Professor Kenda Dean. During worship on March 1, Princeton Seminary Professor Kenda Dean will kick off this visioning process, as she preaches in worship, and as she and our Vision and Vitality Team share with the congregation some of our plans, and some examples of what other congregations and communities have done to create sustainable ministry into the future. A one-hour “Town Hall Meeting” will follow our worship service in the Fellowship Center. Video of these events is now available–scroll down for both Kenda Dean’s sermon and the Town Hall Meeting.
  • April 26: Day of Creation. We will begin a process of idea-generation and collaboration to begin creating ideas that will form the content of our plans for the future. This will only be the beginning of a process where we will generate, evaluate, research, and hone the very best ideas for those projects that will comprise our plan. Please stay tuned for information that will be shared with the congregation before and after this important event, in regard to how we will be conducting this process.
